About Us
My name is Aimee Gardiner MSc, and I am an experienced animal trainer. I have 17 years’ experience training animals. I have trained many species of animals (including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs and parrots just to name a few) using my positive and friendly training methods to great success.
I use positive reinforcement and positive training techniques. I keep up to date with all the latest research and still attend training workshops and events in order to get the latest, up-to-date information about behaviour and training.
I have an MSc and a BSc (Hons), both in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training as well as a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management.
I am an expert in Assistance Dog training, especially for neurodivergent related tasks and also lecture in this topic at universities and advise various organisations such as the NHS, major companies and major airlines.
I now have people from all over the UK come to train with me, as my training methods are well known and very successful. I have dealt with many behaviour and training issues from aggression to pulling on the lead to specialist training such as ringcraft and gundog work.
In my spare time I train and compete with my own dogs, a Flatcoated Retriever and English Springer Spaniel. They have been trained with the same positive methods that I use with every animal I train, to great success.
I have shown them at conformation shows with excellent results (including three Crufts first places). I also have competed in Gundog Working Tests (simulated shoot days using canvas dummies). These tests are marked on obedience and control as well as the dog’s natural instincts. I have working test places (including at the Flatcoated Retriever Society's inter-area team challenge) and a Show Gundog Working Certificate.
I have also dabbled in obedience, agility, heelwork to music, disk dog and we compete in Rally Obedience. Both my dogs have their Good Citizens Dog Scheme awards.
When we are not all out training, they can be found relaxing on my feet, sleeping on the sofa or in my flowerpots!
I am an Approved Dog Training Instructor with Dog Training College, meaning I am independently checked and verified to ensure I meet their strict standards.

I have two Romanian rescues and I was really struggling with Athena’s reactivity and Mr Poe’s anxiety. Aimee and I do not live close so all our sessions are online and I noticed a difference after the first session just by changing my mindset and starting to use some really positive techniques. The transformation in both my dogs, particularly Athena who is muzzled due to dog reactivity is AMAZING. She is so much calmer at home and we have techniques to use to help her manage her stress when she sees another dog.
Aimee’s advice and the level of kindness and patience she has for dogs is fantastic. Some of Athena’s behaviour had been written off as “aggression” and “needing to know she isn’t the alpha” and Aimee totally turned that mindset around, debunked some popular dog training myths and I really believe that positive reinforcement training is the way forward, certainly for my two!
